CHRIST OR DIE

At 26 years of age, LeAndre' Purley a.k.a DJ Civil Rightz has seen it all. He is at the rising top of his career and out of all the people to thank a higher power is first in his life in who he turns to for everything. His name is Jesus Christ.
After getting saved and turning his entire life over to Jesus Christ, DJ Civil Rightz has a new world renowned focus on what his plans are in living his life to the fullest now. Grab a seat as we find out more about what makes his blood pump differently now and some of the milestones he's up against in the future.


SM: So tell us Civil Rightz when did you give your life to Jeuss Christ and got saved?

DJ CR: I gave my life to Christ on April 21st,2009 and I was baptized on July 8th,2009 at Victory Outreach Church.

SM: What dramatic change occured in your life that made you realized you needed to welcome Jesus into your life and change from your wicked ways?

DJ CR: It was a sense of knowing how I was raised and brought up as a child. My mother Pat Purley lived in the church and was always so involved and I just knew God had a true purpose on my life and so it took some time but I'm here now.

SM: Now you were once in the secular world djing for secular artist and promoting degrading music and such. What made you walk away from it all and decide to do a work for Jesus Christ and God?

DJ CR: I felt spiritually bankrupt inside everyday. I wrote for Ozone Magazine and many other secular publications and I just didn't feel right after doing it for about a year. I felt like I was promoting devil filled music and editorials and God wasn't gettign the glory for any of it. I'm just glad Jesus saw fit t osave me before a severe warning came my way for being disobedient.

SM: What did you learn from that experience of being in that crazy lifestyle and what advice would you give to youngsters growing up wanting to follow that evil lifestyle?

DJ CR: I learn only what you do for Christ will last. That's it. If Jesus wouldn't do it then you shouldn't be doing it.
It says in the bible dont let your good deeds be evil spoken of...We must strive daily to uplift the kingdom of God to show ourselves approved before him. My advice to the young kids growing up is don't be decieved by the evil devil. He comes to kill, steal, and destroy everyday. Seek God for everything and you will be bless. But most importantly devote your life to Jesus who died for your sins. Read the book of Romans 10:9 and mean it in your heart and start living for him everyday of your life. He loves you. We all do.

SM: Since you've been saved have you notice your friends acting funny or making fun of your new lifestyle for Christ/

DJ CR: Actually no I haven't. Everyone has a postive reaction and sense of respect for the decision I made to leave the secular market and pursue my walk with God in the church and in the streets. I love everyone no matter what they say about it. Read 1 Corithians 13:4, and apply that to your life everyday and see how God will work through others and yourself.

SM: So what new business ventures do you have going on these days now that you are in the christian limelight?

DJ CR: I was hired to be the resident DJ on the 1's and 2's at Victory Outreach Christian Center every Thursday night at 7pm for the urban youth ministry for the entire 2009 year and beyond. Also, I linked up with a business partner in Texas by the name of kEVIN and we started a christian record label called: Meekness Music Group,LLC. I just released more mixtapes for the streets with new christian artist by the name of Tim, GCHILD, DesStar, and so many more just to name a few. I have my own youtube christian tv show called: Global KingdomTv. I'm up to 11 episodes strong now. And I am working on the Global Kingdom Magazine now. So there is so much going on...God is truly in the midst of everything I'm doing. I pray daily to be led by him and only him at all times.

SM: Man, that is awesome God is truly blessing you in all of your endeavors. So before we let you go I wanted you to tell us what's your definition of a true CHRISTIAN person, because in todays society everyone is saying they are a christian but living totally opposite of what the bible says?

DJ CR: My definition of a true christian is a person who is sold out for Christ no matter what. They aren't ashame of the gospel at any time. They basically can't wait to witness to someone about the good news of what Jesus has done for them. I always say its one thing to read your bible and its another to read it and apply it to your life everyday. It also says in the bible that the people will know you by the fruit that you bear. People in todays society are stupid they know when a person is displaying the right lifestlye and most importantly you may fool people here and there in life but guess what God knows everything and he searches a persons heart and there he can see his/her motives to do his will. So I just encourage people to stand up and these last days and set the example and raise the bar for the kingdom of God.
