Namaveli's Eight Years of Reign

V Dot Nam is an independent artist that has been in the music industry since 2001. By analyzing the hustle and rap game, he introduced a new genre called Grind. Born in a neighborhood called Little Vietnam, located in Northwest Detroit, he saw life through a different perception. At the age of 8 years old, his parents moved to Akron, Ohio. After residing in Ohio for 10 years, V Dot served a two-year term in the Army. During his term, he got into a situation, which caused a discharge. Traveling throughout various states, he settled down in Texas for a couple of years. The definition of V Dot Nam is Vietnam, Detroit, Ohio, Texas, Nine11, Akron, & Michigan. “Drug dealers hustle drugs for a living, but I hustle my music, for it’s my life” –V Dot Nam.
As of now, V Dot Nam is currently building up his achieve by working on various albums and mixtapes with the assistance of his artists under his record label, GrindHouse Records. Besides music, he attends the University of Akron and mentors children that reside in various neighborhoods of Akron, Ohio. For promotion, he uses the college radio station to develop a fan base, while he passes out sample discs to various students on a daily basic. From producing music to creating artwork designs, V Dot uses all of his resources to advertise his multiple talents. By maintaining the position of a producer, he keeps each artist updated about important information. Making sure album covers, productions, and finished projects are set up for every artist.
V Dot started his music career when he was a freshman in high school. In 2006, V Dot produced a song for SparkDawg called “What Must I Say”, which featured Yung Texxas and Prince Paul. The A&R department of Atlantic Records recognized him for this production. Throughout the city of Killeen, V Dot sold 2,000 copies of one mixtape within the first two weeks while working under Welcome 2 Tho’ wd Town/ Cut Throat Entertainment. V Dot averaged the production and recording of 42 underground albums and mixtapes within the length of 6 years. SparkDawg and Yung Texxas signed to Desert Storm South, but V Dot has a different perception in the music industry.
The plan for V Dot’s career is not to have fame, but known in the music industry as a scholar. V Dot’s purpose is to speak wise words, educate, motivate, inspire people across the world, and make our society better and not worse than the one that has just passed. Certain people that perform music professionally only do it for the money. However, money cannot save our future or health, it is up to an individual to perform such a task. The state of mind that V Dot has interpreted, demonstrates how his music is part of his career development plan. “To make the world a better place to live in, it just takes one song” -V Dot Nam.
