Originally created in 1992, the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards TV Show was the first independently produced Hip Hop Awards Show on the BET Network Syndication arm in 1995, and was Label mates with the Source Awards. The Creator, J.T. "J-Train" Thompson, is a Brooklyn Born, Queens, Harlem and South Central Los Angeles raised Hip Hop Connoisseur, whose uncle played with Harlem Legends Billie Holliday, Louis Armstrong, and Benny Goodman, and others, who could not eat, live, or dwell in the places where they played music! A Los Angeles Manual Arts High School Graduate & Champion, US Army Veteran, and Free Agent Professional Athlete who played for the AIA USA Jr National Basketball Team on European World Tour.
New York, NY - The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum has just launched HipHopHoF.TV & HipHopHall.Org Fan & Industry Community website this week. The site will be the home-base of the Hip Hop Hall of Fame, and features its own Hip Hop Report Magazine, National Event Listings, Artists’ New Music & Video Release TV Channel, and Official Merchandise store. The site is a Hip Hop Global Community that enables Fans, Artists, Labels, Executives, Industry Organizations and Professionals, and Corporate Brand Marketers to interact and communicate with each other with their own on-site pages and stores, in a way that provides a unique mix of content and entertainment.
The Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum is also beginning its “VIP Fan Partnership Program, Capital Campaign; offering VIP Memberships at $25.00, that include Free Gifts of an Official T-shirt or HHHOF 18th Anniversary DVD set for April 2012 Release date”, according to creator-executive producer JT Thompson.

J.T. was transplanted to Los Angeles in his early years where he He excelled as a two sports star at Manual Arts HS, and as a National Student Representative of Jr. Achievment after setting sales records for the South Los Angeles area. J.T. continued his work as a Minister, and served his country as a US Army. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, JT execelled as a College Basketball Scholarship Athlete, even making the AIA Jr. USA team playing overseas in Russia, the Ukraine, Germany, Yugoslavia, the Baltic States, Georgia, and other European Countries winning medals. After a brief career as a Free Agent Professional athlete, JT entered the music and entertainment business as a concert promoter and television producer as a guest of former MCA/Universal artists Pebbles, and the R&B Group the Deele, that featured multi- Grammy Award winning artists/producers BabyFace, and current Island-Def Jam Head L.A. Ried. While a free agent professional athlete and businessman, Legends Eazy E, Ice Cube, Yo Yo and Publicist Lynn Jeter, gave J.T. his big break in promotions and productions, as he went on to emerge as a major force in the "Hip Hop Fight the Power Leadership" era of the early 90's, even joining with Sister Souljah.
As one of the main Co-Founders of the historical L.A. Gang Truce Alliance, during the 1992 Riots, J.T. led the R.O.Y.A.L. Alliance Organization (Representatives of Young African-American Leadership renamed the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Museum Foundation), and took the lead in empowering community, private, and public economic development partnerships, and helped push for the National Empowerment Zones from Los Angeles, to the new Harlem USA projects. His story was highlighted in the Movie Redemption Starring Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, as J.T. utilized Gang Members on Projects including Restoring the Sear's Hollywood among many other activities, and being called a "Hero" by the L.A. Times and L.A. Sentinel. Despite the HHHOF and J.T. producing numerous albums, movies, concerts, step shows, special events from the Bay Area to Los Angeles, Atlanta, and NYC, Hip Hop took a negative turn during the media hyped east-west turmoil and the Hip Hop Hall of Fame suffered in the downturn, only to rise again today with a vengeance to finally complete the NYC HHHOF Museum and Entertainment Complex "Coming in 2013-14." Often imitated, but will never be duplicated!
