I have noticed time and time again that most successful people are focused true enough and many of them believe that self preservation is the law of life. However, when they win awards or give speeches to children, etc...I rarely hear thanks being given to GOD.  Why is that?  You can't realize that you have been a victim without God allowing you to make it through.  Make no mistake about it the devil does infact throw monkey wrenches in our everyday situations; whatever to keep you back.  Having said this, like the bible says delight thy self in the lord and all things will be added unto you. I wrote this because every artists path is different.  I don't see the point in asking famous people for advice, when it is so evidently clear what has to be done.  You have to pray, you have to focus, you have to make sacrifices...extreme sacrifices, you have to be selfish, and you will need some teeth and a thick skin; it's as simple as that.

Well said I'm so impressed with your wisdom & how you write & this is so true which is exactly why I gave praise to God first in my Thank You blog..I'm glad you let us know about that here because I left that out of this blog & everyone definitely needs to hear this..

Honestly Kings and Queens, you can not limit your success based on others actions. I say that to say this, a lot of people on here going hard trying to get that $50,000.00 right? But the truth to the light is that only one male and one female will win either way you look at it. In no way am I saying get frustrated by my words or what I'm saying and give up or lose hope. What I am saying is don't just use this opportunity to market and promote one thing. I think these social sites are wonderful way to market and promote your own skills. What better way to prove to others your creativity and knowledge then through sharing and displaying your skills on sites like this during competitions like this? Honestly, I am already a business owner. I own Hustle Hard Publications (http://hustlehardent.com). Just signed a deal with Augustus Publishing. And I just signed my first author to my own label as well. Now, I'm not saying that I don't want to win $50,000.00. But material things don't make nor break me no more. I done seen $100,000.00 at a time, $80,000.00 at a time. But at the end of the day, if you are not prepared to handle success, that money will be gone just as soon as you get it. I guarantee it. What we need to start doing as adults is preparing for our futures. The opportunities will be there. Trust me! However, if you are not ready for an opportunity when it presents itself, you will fail. Real Rap! So, today, we need to start planning for success by focusing on ways to be more successful and how to put yourself in the position to even earn an opportunity. It is not as much of struggle to get to the top. The real struggle and challenge is to stay there and retain that position. That's some real G shyt for you. I hope you listen. 100!

Welcome Naiti and Thank you for your words of inspiration and for joining the group.  I agree there are people here for the 50K , there are people who are here for the movie role, and there are people here who joined like me before the movie opportunity came about.  In my Thank you Blog I stated  for me it's more than just the 50k & movie role (although I want both)! We have an opportunity to market and promote ourselves here on another level.  You have made some great points being ready for the opportunity when it presents itself and preparing for the future are things we need to focus on.  I will visit your site, congrats on your Augustus Publishing deal!  Maybe when you have time you can let inspiring writers know steps to obtain a publishing deal.

To me, Im a writer, and I can either give up at the first time my work is rejected or keep my dream alive and keep writing, and better myself to achieve what I set out to do, there are tons of publishers out there looking for a good and determined writer like me and sticking to what I believe in and by the grace of God I believe I can do this....I can also keep an open mind and heart to advice from others along the way which is nice to get constructive criticism but Im looking into the future,(THE PRIZE) so to speak, and my Dreams

to come alive with alot of hard work........
